Could a breath reveal early signs of disease? 🔬 @aijamayrock explores Technion Prof. Hossam Haick’s “electronic nose” and his mission to make early detection more accessible, in collaboration with @TechnionUSA

This is Hossam Haick - a scientist and engineer at @TechnionLive.
After one of his friends was diagnosed with cancer, he thought to himself, "There must be a way to detect cancer earlier and faster."
So he spent 15 YEARS building an electronic nose!
You breathe into it for 3 seconds and the machine analyzes thousands of chemical compounds in your breath and can know if you have a disease and what category of disease you have: cancer, neurological disease, lung disease.
This technology has been tested on 30,000 patients across 17 different countries.
Hossam's dream is to get this technology to be so accurate that it can not only tell you what kind of disease you have, but also what type of treatment you should get.
It's still in clinical trials but hopefully accessible in the near future. Read more about Hossam's work here: ats.org/explore/articl…
