At least 10 college football fan bases are openly calling for their head coach to be fired. 6 of those coaches are in Year 1.

Year 1: Michigan, Penn State, Florida, Arkansas, Cal, Tulane
Also: TCU, Nebraska, USC, App State

There's a false belief out there that because players can be paid now, you can flip a program in one offseason. Write the checks, work the portal, fixed by September.

It doesn't work that way. When everybody can pay players, money stops being the edge. A bigger payroll helps, but you still have to have the right guys on it.

Nick Saban said it on College GameDay: "You guys keep talking about a $20 million roster. If you don't pay the right guys, you'll be s*** out of luck."

Evaluation. Development. Culture. Patience. You can't buy those in one portal window.

Here's a thought: grade the people selling the quick #YourFired fix as publicly as we grade the coaches.

These are all multi-million dollar moves which impact hundreds of people each. What qualifies a random fan, or content creator, to judge from afar?
