THE MOMENT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!
One old helmet. One little Baylor fan. One pretty special project.
This started when my 5-year-old asked me to take an old football helmet from when I was a kid and turn it into a Baylor helmet for his room.
I reached out to Baylor hoping they might be able to help with a couple of decals.
I definitely wasn’t expecting what happened next.
Baylor went WAY above and beyond.
Doug McNamee, Kendal Moore and the Baylor equipment staff sent us decals and gear that made this project so much more special than I ever imagined.
So we got to work.
We stripped it down, cleaned it up, painted it Baylor green and gold, added the official BU and Sailor Bear decals, and brought an old piece of my childhood back to life for my son.
And tonight, I finally got to see him holding the finished helmet.
He absolutely loves it.
That’s what this was all about!
Thank you, Baylor, for helping me make a memory with my son that we’ll have forever.
