Some good marks for the Marquette Poll:
Charles Franklin @PollsAndVotes 3d
The @MULawPoll had Crowley +7 among likely voters. Unofficial results have him at +8.0. Some thought +7 was too high given recent Wisconsin elections, but not so much. The national MULawPoll congressional ballot had D+13, which people also said was high. Looks like +13 to +14.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos speaks about Dems winning a trifecta in Wisconsin:

Wisconsin voters have spoken, and Democrats will hold a governing trifecta for the first time in nearly two decades. Governor-elect David Crowley, Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer, and Senate Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein will set the agenda in Madison.

I congratulate them on their victory.

For years, Wisconsin has thrived under an approach that made important investments while also reducing the tax burden. That balance delivered economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and opportunity for families and job creators. Republicans remain committed to those same principles: lower costs, a lighter tax burden, and an economy that expands opportunity rather than government.

Democrats spent the campaign promising lower costs and relief for families while offering few specifics. Their records tell a clearer story. Under Crowley, Milwaukee County nearly doubled its sales tax and raised property-tax levies in five of his six years. He has argued higher taxes are not a burden. Hold on to your wallets. With full control of state government, that approach is now on track to become statewide policy.

The new Democratic leadership also lacks any real private-sector experience. Crowley built his career in campaign organizing and political staff work. Neubauer and Hesselbein have the same resume. They know politics. Being good at politics will mean paying back their powerful political allies.

Republicans know what it takes to support a family or grow a small business, and we will keep that perspective front and center.

Over the next two years, I know Republicans will stand firmly with the taxpayers and job creators who built Wisconsin’s success. Conservatives will offer constructive alternatives, demand accountability, and make sure voters can see the difference between growing government and growing opportunity.

Many newly elected Democrats presented themselves as moderates; their leadership team has a different agenda.

Wisconsin’s strengths—our workforce, our communities, and our tradition of common-sense governance—are durable. Republicans will work every day to protect those strengths, highlight what is working, and prepare for the moment when voters again choose balance and results over one-party control.

The next two years will test our resolve. They will also clarify the choice ahead. We are ready for both.

NEW: Proponents of California’s wealth tax are already blaming billionaires’ “corrosive influence” for poisoning the campaign --- a sign that even its most ardent backers are pessimistic about its chances.

Dave Regan says they'll try again in '28 if Sacramento "fails" to make billionaires "pay their fair share," and Ro Khanna says he'll back future wealth tax pushes.
