🎉 Congrats to all the winners at today’s Dept of Surgery 2026 Awards! 🏆

Whether you took home an award or crushed it behind the scenes, we celebrate every single faculty member & resident. Your dedication makes us proud! 👏💙 #SurgeryAwards2026 #MedX

The Department of Surgery is bursting with pride as we celebrate a historic milestone for our very own Dr. Diana Farmer! At the recent Vienna Joint Congress, the European Paediatric Surgeons' Association (EUPSA) bestowed its highest honor upon her: EUPSA Honorary Membership.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Dr. Mohamed Ali, Chief of Foregut, Metabolic, and General Surgery, was honored at the 2026 TREO (Treatment Research and Education to end Obesity) LEAD Awards ceremony on May 5. Congratulations Dr. Ali on this remarkable achievement!

Congratulations to Dr. Russo, our newest American Surgical Association Foundation Fellowship awardee!

This $75K/yr, 2-year career development award will allow Dr. Russo to focus on regenerative nanotherapeutics for spinal cord injury.
