For many people in south Lebanon, UNIFIL has been part of daily life for decades – supporting local services, creating jobs and helping communities meet essential needs.

As its mandate approaches its end, these communities continue to face significant challenges.

At an event at the Imam Sadr Foundation in Tyre marking the completion of the joint @UNESCOBEIRUT–UNIFIL Youth Empowerment Project, a Youth Media Centre and Digital Citizen Hub were launched, giving young people new spaces and tools to create and share content.

Road repairs, demining, and clearing roadblocks are an important part of UNIFIL’s support to local communities. These activities help ensure the safe passage of vehicles & freedom of movement for communities and peacekeepers alike across south Lebanon.
