The mystery behind the iPhone Duo's hinge issues may finally be solved.

According to Chinese tech insider Kang, the issue has reportedly been traced to defective materials from one of Apple's two hinge suppliers, rather than a fundamental design flaw.

Apple can reportedly identify affected devices through their serial numbers.

The big question now: Will Apple publicly identify the affected batches and offer replacements?

Of the four wide-format foldable phones released so far, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is the clear winner when it comes to smoothness.
