Stars, Stripes and Superstar Volunteers: Our field of flags is officially planted at the Houston VA, and it is a sight to see! This morning, community volunteers from the Houston Veterans Rotary Club, SERVE, Stay Tuned for Vets, Alpha Phi Alpha Nonprofit, and AT PAC Scaffold Manufacturing and Project Management Group showed up ready to work and made it happen in honor of Veterans Day.

Many Hands, Big Hearts: Houston VA Chief Nurse Dr. Michael Simmons was on hand to thank these amazing volunteers for their support of our VA and our Veterans.

Come See It for Yourself! Stop by and visit the flag field over the next several weeks, down by our Community Living Center entrance.

During WWII, the Navajo Code Talkers helped change the course of history. Using their native language, Marines like PFC Preston Toledo and PFC Frank Toledo transmitted critical battlefield messages through a code the enemy could not break.

This Native American Heritage Month, we honor their courage, ingenuity, and extraordinary legacy of service to our Great Nation.
