Democrats could run a gerbil or a house plant against JD Vance in 2028 — and win. Unlikeable. Untrustworthy. Already a traitor to his sugar daddy Trump, who plucked him from obscurity. I desperately hope Vance gets the GOP nomination in two years. 🪴 🐹

There is not enough billionaire cash, anti-Muslim hate or anti-trans hysteria to cover up for the fact that Trump’s Republican Party FAILED TO GOVERN this country effectively.

Black women keep rescuing America. Last night, they did it again.

The results were historic. But the map can't tell you WHO did the work.

Organizers on the ground in key states are all telling me the same thing: this victory for democracy was made possible by the genius, magic and hard work of Black women.

They did it after one economic gut punch after another. They did it with deep networks and very little money.

So here is my message to every donor celebrating today: Fund these organizations generously now. Fund them early. Fund them in the years when no one is watching.

Black women keep investing their whole selves – mind, body and soul – in this precious experiment called America. It's time for America to invest in them.

Okay, so maybe I was a little too giddy last night! But how could I not be?? I got so excited that I even forgot that Carol Moseley Braun back in the 90s was the first Black female US Senator of Illinois.

Last night, the history books changed.

FIRST Latina governor of Texas (Gina Hinojosa)
FIRST Native American woman elected governor in United States history (Deb Haaland)
FIRST woman governor of Minnesota (Amy Klobuchar)
FIRST woman ever elected governor of Ohio (Amy Acton)
FIRST elected Latino governor of California (Xavier Becerra)
FIRST Black governor of Wisconsin (David Crowley)
FIRST Muslim elected to the United States Senate (Abdul El-Sayed)
FIRST openly gay man elected to the United States Senate (Chris Pappas)
FIRST state represented by two women of color in the Senate, Illinois (Juliana Stratton, joining Senator Tammy Duckworth)
FIRST Black woman in Congress from Colorado (Melat Kiros)

And that is only part of the list!! More barriers fell last night, and we are not done counting.

Every cult ends the same way. Republicans who drank the Donald Trump Kool-Aid are finding out what that costs them. Last night was Jonestown for the Republican Party.
