Our #DevRel @DianavTodea wrote for @VmBlog, “Why Carbon Needs to Become #OpenTelemetry’s Next First-Class Signal”.
#Observability is built around signals. We collect #metrics to understand system behavior, traces to follow requests across distributed systems, and logs to investigate what happened at a particular point in time. Together, these signals help engineers answer familiar questions about latency, reliability, capacity, and cost.
Software consumes energy. The hardware running it has embodied emissions, and the electricity powering that hardware has a carbon intensity that changes depending on where and when it is generated. The environmental impact exists whether we observe it or not. Yet when we investigate a service, workload or trace, that context is usually missing.

@Opentelemetry fans, this one’s for you!
Our DevRel @DianavTodea presented #OTel in Practice: How can I contribute to OpenTelemetry if I’m not a developer?
In this talk, she explored what localization communities actually do, why first-time contributors choose to get involved, and what turns an initial contribution into an ongoing commitment. What motivates someone to keep contributing week after week? What do contributors gain from participating? And what can an #OpenSource community do to make that first step easier and create a welcoming path from newcomer to regular contributor?

🇺🇸 VictoriaMetrics is expanding in North America!
We're US-headquartered, bootstrapped, and profitable, and today we're announcing a bigger investment in our North American team:
🟣 More coverage during North American business hours
🟣 50% global headcount growth this year, without venture funding
🟣 Expanded US teams across sales, customer success, and developer advocacy
🟣 Continued hiring across North America, including support and engineering
VictoriaMetrics is an #OpenSource and Enterprise #observability solutions provider for infrastructure, application, and AI workloads, built to give engineering teams more visibility with less infrastructure and less operational overhead.

Companies like @Spotifyeng, @MongoDB, and Grammarly - @Superhuman rely on our open-source stack to power observability at scale. Our #OpenSource components have surpassed 1B downloads.

We're more than just metrics! You can run metrics, logs, and traces together or use each solution independently.
