Excited to share Minerva, our approach using genome language models for biological discovery! Using Minerva, we find that UG27 reverse transcriptase systems encode variable arrays of diverse ncRNAs with a shared structure, each templating a short DNA hairpin. With @garykbrixi.

Beautiful work by Deniz and co!! Especially love the regeneration/compensation profiling... so many interesting questions ahead!
What is a body made of? Many great studies have characterized and cataloged cell types across organisms. New in @science.org, we take this question to the scale of an entire adult vertebrate, opening organism-wide biology at single-cell resolution: tinyurl.com/3fbkwp4d

What can we learn from all cytokines in the human genome? For most, we have limited info on what they do and when to target them

Meet TAPAS & EPICURE: tools to synthesize all human cytokines➡️scRNA data of primary human immune responses➡️🖥️methods to use them in your work (1/n)

We’re sharing today how redesigning proteins with AI enhances their evolution. Redesign raises the fitness that proteins evolve for new function, expands the solution space, and even accelerates adaptation. We harness this finding to reprogram more potent, precise, and stable proteases for therapeutics. Out in @Nature:

Games have long served as a testing ground for understanding problem-solving and strategic reasoning in humans and machines, across many fields – from AI, to cognitive science, economics, and more. Yet, in life people are regularly faced not just with repeated instances of the same problem or “system of rule and reward”, but entirely new problems, new systems, new games.

And when encountering new games, people not only need to decide what actions to take but whether a game is even worth playing at all!

How can people think reasonably about new games for the first time, so flexibly and quickly?

We take steps towards this question in our new work, out now in @Nature!
