#pollen24 @YolandaAriadne - in Guyana and Suriname, the colonial legacy on environmental governance is strong. If we are to decolonise, we need to decentre the state, and maybe the answer lies with re-engaging with pre-colonial and maroon ideas of the environment

#POLLEN24 Benjamin Neimark raises the crucial question of labour relations in conservation and the green transition - who is doing the actual work on the ground, under what conditions, the precarity, risks and opportunities. The conservation working class.

#POLLEN24 session on 'invisibility' in conservation reminds us on how many experiences of animals are fleeting, ephemeral, temporary yet leave a lasting political impact. e.g. predators move in, kill, move out yet leave livestock losses and angry people.
