SOUTH KOREA UNVEILS RECORD $610B BUDGET TO EXPAND SOVEREIGN AI
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung unveiled an 820.9 trillion won ($610.14 billion) national budget for 2027.
The plan increases total spending by 12.8%, allocating 21.3 trillion won to semiconductors and AI infrastructure and 4.7 trillion won toward developing a sovereign AI model.
The initiative will establish company-linked university degrees with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix while resulting in virtually no net increase in government debt.
