🚨 Science's Last Exam is out and it's not another Q&A benchmark

the agent gets a research goal + tools, picks its own method, runs the experiments and then the answer is frozen and graded by hidden checks

ticagrelor task: find the lowest dose that stops dangerous clots without breaking normal bleeding, across different vessels / blood flow / drug response

9 disciplines, tasks built by researchers from Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Oxford, Princeton, Oak Ridge

capability diagnostics show exactly where the agent gets stuck

wet-lab round is next: AI-written protocols run on a real bench

I’m incredibly proud to share what we’ve been building at the AItonomy Foundation: Science’s Last Exam (SLE). 🧪✨

Can AI do science? Instead of Q&A, we give agents actual research goals and real-world tools (lab data, software), then grade them against hidden expert checks.

Deeply grateful to the brilliant minds at 34 institutions (Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc.) who helped craft 113 tasks across 9 disciplines. ❤️

The results? Science is hard. Of 8 frontier models, the best scored 37.5/100. On true end-to-end research? All scored 0. We have an exciting journey ahead! 🚀
(Claude Opus 5.5 & GPT-6 Astra coming soon—just clearing bio safeguards).

Everything opens Nov 6. 🗓️

🚨 claude-donut-eap is silicon high

Devin labels it claude- so Anthropic

it’s an alias. reversed the Devin CLI (3000.12.17) and the parser maps the name straight to a model called “Silicon”

> claude-donut-eap → 0x63 → silicon-high
> claude-onigiri-eap → 0x5e → obsidian-3-high

Silicon is a new family , low / medium / high / xhigh / max.

Obsidian 3 was already there (the hidden one from Cognition’s FrontierCode board)

🚨Fable 5.5: new codename “claude-donut-eap” just showed up

> just appeared in Devin’s CLI (build 3000.12.17, Nov 6)

> It’s stored right next to opus 5.5, mythos 5.1, fable 5.1, haiku 5.5 and the onigiri id.

Could be fable-5.5, could be another tier. Nothing confirmed, I’m only reading the build.

Gemini 4 Carbon directing omni flash 1.2 , this is the best combo for education

@Gemini_Notebook add this feature in notebook lm as default < atleast on ultra subs >

Prompt : make a 2 minute video explaining how a flying jet engine turns fuel into motion

Meet Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash ⚡️

We’ve made the model more cost-effective, bumped the video generation and editing limit up to 15 seconds, and made updates to how scenes hold together over time. We've also given character speech an upgrade, reduced visual glitches like jump cuts, and made sure the model stays even truer to any reference assets you upload.

So… what does all of that actually mean for you?

It gives you more room to tell your story. With up to 15 seconds to work with, you have more flexibility to create what you need — videos look more cinematic and smooth, offering stronger consistency that keeps objects anchored from start to finish. And when characters speak, the dialogue sounds more fluid and natural.

Creators and everyday users can start directing scenes and multi-turn edits in @FlowbyGoogle, generating 15-second clips at no additional cost in Google Vids, or creating 15-second videos in the @GeminiApp. Plus, for developers and businesses building with the API, we've dropped the price by 30% from the previous generation, making it available at just $0.07 per second for 720p video.

Watch the model in action as it turns a single style frame into a 4-shot, 15-second macro science explainer of a living beehive ↓

most "Nx less compute" benchmarks are useless , this one is set up properly

1M events/sec from Kafka into Iceberg for a full hour , every engine shrunk to the smallest fleet that still kept table lag under 90s at p95 , and correctness checked against the produced data , not against what the engine reports about itself

the harness is public (ingest-bench) so if you run Spark or Flink pipelines , rerun it on your own setup before trusting anyone's chart , mine included

matters more now that agents hit tables all day instead of a few dashboards every morning

What I'm seeing across the industry right now is that the biggest bottleneck to AI adoption isn't model capabilities. It's data infrastructure.

Today, we're expanding the Eon Data Foundation with the launch of Eon Yukon, a new serverless data engine purposely built to change that.

AI agents need fresh, contextualized data to act.
Specialized models need a continuous feed of data and feedback to improve. Both are still served by a stack, an architecture, and methods built for dashboards:

-Spark and Flink clusters sized for peak, plus compaction jobs to keep tables usable.

-A pipeline and a copy for every consumer, staged bronze to silver to gold.

-Hand-written jobs, wired together by an orchestrator and kept alive by specialists.

The result: shipping data is complicated, risky, and expensive. While coding agents ship apps in hours, they rarely build or run data pipelines. The data is too volatile, and a mistake costs too much.

With Yukon, data moves from ingestion to processing to serving in one continuous flow, without the infrastructure and pipelines traditionally required to connect them.

Events become compacted, sorted, deduplicated Iceberg tables within seconds.

Real-time aggregations run inline, with fully managed state. Agents and applications can access fresh data with sub-millisecond latency through a Redis-compatible API or through our SQL and spark compatible query engine.

Beyond moving and serving data, Yukon makes it continuously understandable - Live column-level statistics, accessible through MCP, give agents visibility into the data. Built-in monitoring, sampling, and data minimization help teams maintain control.

At 1M events/sec and equal freshness, Yukon used 4x less compute than Spark and 7x less than Flink. The benchmark is public: run it yourself with Eon’s ingest-bench.

This is another major step toward our vision of an Autonomous Data Foundation for the AI era, built to both protect enterprise data and unlock its full potential.
