Agree. When things get rocky it gets very quiet. Pin drop quiet. When emergency and out of control it can get noisy but the sound level falls with the heart rate and inotrope requirements. Well functioning teams have a level of background noise far below ambient urban or jungle

Interesting. I always thought noise in theatre was a poor metric. I have known surgeons who like a quiet theatre, and others who like chatter and music.
