Congratulations to all my CRF colleagues and, especially, the incredible staff— under the leadership of the incomparable @triciarawh. Coordinating an event like this is an amazing achievement, and you all pulled it off with grace and good cheer throughout!

Very sad to hear of Marv’s passing. He was one of the first people to have faith in my cost-effectiveness and quality of life research, and funded several critical grants during my early career when I was a complete unknown. May his memory be a blessing.

The Cardiovascular Research Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of Marvin “Marv” Woodall, a cherished member of the CRF Board of Directors and former Chief Executive Officer, whose vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment helped shape both our organization and the field of interventional cardiovascular medicine.

Throughout his distinguished career, Marv was a driving force behind some of the most significant advances in cardiovascular care, including the development of the first balloon expandable coronary stent. His passion for innovation and dedication to improving patient outcomes helped transform the treatment of heart disease and improve the lives of millions of patients around the world.

Marv’s impact on CRF extended far beyond his leadership as CEO. As a valued member of our Board of Directors, he remained deeply committed to our mission, generously sharing his wisdom, guidance, and passion for advancing research, physician education, and innovation. He was admired not only for his extraordinary leadership, but also for his integrity, humility, generosity, and unwavering belief in the power of collaboration to improve patient care.

“Marv was an extraordinary leader whose vision helped shape CRF and whose influence reached far beyond our organization. As both our former CEO and a dedicated member of our Board of Directors, he inspired all of us through his wisdom, generosity, and unwavering commitment to advancing cardiovascular medicine. On behalf of the entire CRF family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy will continue to inspire our work for generations to come.”
