🚢 PRODUCT LAUNCH: "where-was-i" - a CLI that tells you all the trips you've ever been on, just using Apple Photos. Nothing leaves your machine unless you want it to.

Use it to supercharge your Grok Bot/Muse/Instinct/Dot or just Codex/Claude.

How it works:
- Apple Photos stores a location for each of your photos
- Your Mac also knows where your home is
- "where-was-i" uses this to find out the days where you weren't at home, where you went, and where you stayed the night - just from the locations of the photos you took
- This gives you a list of every trip you've ever been on (since you started using your iPhone).
- You can feed this to another AI agent (then the data does leave your machine).

Oops.

If this is true (I didn't check myself), we see what "western values" really mean: anti-China and anti-communist propaganda.

Pro tip if you have a device that is misbehaving: just tell Astra/Opus to pull the firmware and figure out why from the raw firmware.

This works much better than asking them what's wrong with it and trying to guess; even if given manuals etc, they hallucinate.

An example:
My DJI Osmo Pocket 4 gimbal camera kept refusing to automatically upload to WiFi.

The models suggested a bunch of stuff around debugging WiFi connections and switching, and made assumptions about channels being restricted ("channel 100 doesn't work on this device" "the camera can only connect to a 5Ghz network if you switch it's phone link to 2.4Ghz".

Nothing worked, so I told it to pull the firmware and check what the actual code did, and, unsurprisingly, all of the model's assumptions were totally incorrect!

Pro tip: if you have any kinda home automation setup with dashboards, get Opus 5.5 to overhaul them.

I always hated defining dashboards at work because it was so annoying to set up, syntax horrible, hard to memorize, etc. But now Opus can do it so much better than I could!

now that's the sort of AI coding i like to see!
