Kushner met with Jeffries. So (1) they know the Dems are going to take control of the house in Nov and (2) they want to make Jeffries their b*tch. It’s all one big uni-party.
And the silence from some of you politicians on this meet cute is deafening, BY THE WAY.

Stephen Miller was just announced as Chief of Staff. Did you know that Mark Levine's wife...the same wife who's son is a top aide to Mike Huckabee, who was/is accused of suppressing and altering reports critical of Israel from the Embassy to our Gov. Anyway...that wife. Well, she's General Counsel at Stephen Miller's dark money "non profit" America First Legal? She also sits on Virginia's Israel Advisory Board that negotiates contracts with Israeli's Ministry of Defense?? Nothing to see here folks...

If I ran DOGE, Part 1:
WHY ARE WE SPENDING OVER $100M SINCE DECEMBER TO BABYSIT TWO SEIZED OIL TANKERS THAT ARE WORTH $13M COMBINED??

I don’t think DOGE saved taxpayers money. It went after small programs that made good headlines and barely touched the Pentagon, where the biggest money sits. Nobody looked at the contracts belonging to Elon’s own companies, and the way his people got into Americans’ private data is still being fought over in court. I’ll get into all of that another time.

This series is what I think DOGE should go after. So, let’s follow the money and see where actual savings exist.

Since December, our government has spent more than $100M babysitting two seized oil tankers that are worth about $13M combined. I wish I could say I made that number up, but I didn’t, it is the number that the Justice Department admitted in court, and it’s only the beginning. In September they signed a no-bid deal for the same job that could reach $1.7B. $1.7 BILLION.

The ships aren’t going anywhere. One is anchored off the coast of Texas and the other is sitting in the Indian Ocean with contractors living on board. We’re paying for the fuel, the tugboats, the crews and the insurance, plus around $700K a month just to park one of them.

To make it worse, they don’t want us to know who is getting paid to babysit these tankers. The government asked a judge to keep the contractors’ names secret. Our tax dollars are being wasted AND you want to keep the contractor a secret?? It also asked to sell one of the ships in secret to a buyer it picked, but the judge said no. She wrote that the rules for public sales exist to prevent “corruption or the appearance of corruption.” Not shady at all.

Don’t worry, I found the money for us anyway. The day after the first tanker was seized, the DOJ opened an order that the public contract record lists at $5 million. The DOJ’s accounting data shows $143.9 million has already gone out on that order, paid from its Assets Forfeiture Fund. So, $138.9M over the original $5M, nice.

The paperwork doesn’t add up either. That order is in the name of a company whose filings say it sold that business in 2024. Other orders under the same contract say the work is done out of a Colorado Springs office that belongs to a different defense contractor, V2X. On September 23, V2X got the new no-bid contract, and the government skipped the usual check on whether the price was fair. I am going to look more into this contractor because something doesn’t smell right.

If this keeps going at the current pace for five years, my estimate is that we’ll have spent more than $1B guarding $13M worth of tankers.

If I ran DOGE, this contract would stop this week. I would sell the empty tankers for scrap in a public sale (to avoid corruption/appearance of). I would sell the oil the same way and lock up the money until courts decide who it belongs to. I would freeze the $1.7B V2X contract until the DOJ explains in writing why nobody else was allowed to bid and why they wanted to keep this contractor secret. I would also make them explain the $143.9M because the records say it went to a company that says it doesn’t even do this work anymore, while the work is listed in the same zip code as the company that just got the no bid deal. Either the records are wrong or someone is hiding who really got this money and we the taxpayers deserve to know which one it is.

Congress can demand this information tomorrow and they won’t unless we make noise. So, tag your representative and let’s start demanding accountability for our hard earned money.
