Since 2022, Norfolk Southern has contributed $65,000 to Pathways Inc., helping Birmingham women and families experiencing chronic homelessness find a place to call home.

Our latest $15,000 grant will expand housing assistance and workforce development services, giving more families the support they need to build lasting stability.

115 railroaders. 26 hours. One mission.

Our Engineering and Transportation teams, with support from our Network Operations Center (NOC), joined forces to complete six major infrastructure projects across southern Indiana and Kentucky in just over a day. The work included three bridge replacements, track and ballast renewal, and critical rail junction upgrades along a key corridor connecting Midwest and Southeast markets.

Months of planning and teamwork made it possible to complete all six projects in one coordinated effort, avoiding five additional maintenance windows and strengthening long-term network reliability.
