Medical training teaches you how to care for patients. But what happens when you’re named in a malpractice lawsuit?

By age 65, up to 99% of physicians in high-risk specialties and 75% in lower-risk specialties will have faced a malpractice claim.

On November 17, join Roon and Dr. Gita Pensa for an honest conversation about what to do, what to avoid, and how to navigate litigation while continuing to care for patients.

Dr. Pensa spent 12 years as a malpractice defendant, went through two jury trials, and now coaches physicians facing litigation. She also hosts Doctors and Litigation: The L Word and consulted on HBO Max’s The Pitt.

Today, we’re celebrating Roon’s founding Global Health physicians and inviting other physicians to join them. 🌍

These physicians have helped expand HIV treatment, lead responses to Ebola, advance tuberculosis therapies, and widen access to cancer medicines. Among them are leaders who have guided the World Bank, Doctors without Borders, Partners in Health and other leading global health institutes.

Together, they have been spectacularly successful in implementing what was once a far-fetched idea: namely, that everyone deserves the chance to lead a healthy life regardless of where they are born or the resources available to them. But today, the dismantling of USAID and funding cuts from major donor countries threaten those gains, disrupting essential care and partnerships built over decades.

At a moment like this, physicians working in global health need places to connect, learn from one another, and find support for the work ahead. We hope Roon can play a small part in strengthening those connections and the community working to make better health possible for everyone, everywhere.
