Rich was my roommate more than any other player over my 10 years. During the season and in spring training. One of the smartest guys I know. He became a lawyer as well.
He also kept a journal and wrote down everything he saw over his entire career. It scares me to death to think that those pages might someday might get out. Lol

Happy Birthday Rich Thompson, who won 12 games and had 23 career saves with #Buffalo. He went 9-7 with a 3.35 ERA and 10 saves for the Herd in 1984. #Bisons.

I played with Chick. Once with Buffalo 1983, He came in to relieve when we were down, and we took the lead. Moved over to play first an inning or two later. His reliever got in trouble and Chick came back in from first to finish the game and got the save and of course, the win.

Happy Birthday Charles "Chick" Valley. He pitched and played first base for #Buffalo. Hit .269 with 25 HRs and 98 RBIs for the 1979 #Bisons. Also played for the Herd in 1983, when he had a 2.38 ERA in 41 2/3 IP.
