Just completed Lamine Yamal 2026 Prizm World Cup Sticker Rainbow (complete colors) on chain. World Cup winning year release.

A full circle moment. The first sports card I ever came across is during my mid school circa ’96 for a KG sticker which might not be an official release.

I have huge admiration for Panini World Cup stickers that bring friends and families together to trade and complete albums. Since 1970. Well known in Europe.

I was also in the US and started to collect cards from secondary market when Panini America entered US market and I was there witnessing Prizm was inaugurated into sports card ecosystem in 2012. I’m probably the only one then to complete multiple Prizm Gold sets: Downtown bound, Lakers subset and Lottery pick double rookie class subset.

I was also there on day 1 to participate Panini’s first week of Blockchain Dutch auction and won the KG (matching to above which I just realized) on first week of 2020. I only entered #PaniniBlockchain secondary market last month of 2021 (tried to get multiple Ohtani Prizm Gold and GV earlier but to no avail).

Fast forward to this Monday, WC stickers and Prizm and Blockchain come together in one. It has all the nostalgia and meanings in one. This is partly why I spent a lot of time to try to get everyone participate this phenomenal drop, know the on-chain mechanics and enjoy the fun and almost free experience.

I’m also big on Yamal since day 1 when he broke into international spotlight during 2024 EURO which happened in Berlin and I got to watch the Final in person.

Yamal at 19 years old becomes the only teenager to win both EURO and World Cup in Futbol history. I also watched Yamal at World Cup Final in person. My son is also 19 and one day off from Yamal (which I also just realized).

KG referred above happened to be 19 years old when he entered NBA.

From knowing Yamal at EURO and missed out his Kaboom RC 1/1 (which helped me winning TC UCC Super Auto 1/1) to winning Yamal Prizm World Cup Nebula 1/1 physical/PBC pairing days before WC Final. Two of his biggest achievements coincided with my biggest hobby moments pertaining his cards. I also didn’t get his Prizm WC Black 1/1, because I prefer Nebula more to the best true of 5 black variations.

So this Prizm WC Sticker Black 1/1 is also my first Yamal Prizm Black 1/1. I was quite busy, distracted in multiple ways (work, son’s university application, helping outreaching for this product and weeklong vacation in Norway) and landing such a card always depends on luck and timing. At least I had a fair chance and strong competition to properly price discover this card for me, for the seller and for the community and for digital asset class itself at this very moment. It’s quite an important moment given the above contexts. Very blessed to complete this sixpack and completed colorways of Yamal.

Nice to see 2017 Flawless Auto Logoman 1/1 of Kobe becomes the highest documented Kobe solo card sale.

It brings Attributes like Logoman, Auto Patch 1/1, 1/1, All-Premium product pulled (not just a chase in mid end product) into forefront.

It also defied the playing days narrative. PD is just one attribute, which should enhance when it is present and should not negate when not. It could be a way to cut down supply or put a hard cap, but when it’s an innovation or super rarity outside PD window, it can stand tall against any boxed in attempt.

Here actually omega property is more pronounced, we know 2017 is the last season for Kobe’s packpulled auto patch. The record card is his last Kobe Flawless logo auto. Another uniqueness attribute is Kobe’s only 8 jersey logo auto 1/1 in Panini era.

Logoman aside, the most famous and recognized Flawless auto patch set is dual auto patch. Here this one depicted and in my PC has omega property as well, namely last dual auto patch 1/1. It also has uniqueness property that being the first 1/1 foil being Lake blue (湖水蓝）. Also both patches are of highest quality, curved and nice complex shape, being omega part of chest team name patch, S, of both home and away jerseys. While Kobe is in rare Sunday white jersey, the third jersey color.

We have seen in the hobby lots of short term momentum trading and less spot buying. The Flawless logo auto sale proved a nice model which shows holding ages well. Card don’t need to transact to grow in value, while transaction proves it to more people. A big landmark purchase, affects market, and over time it gets rarionalized and normalized, other cards in turn make it value higher. This model of spot buying is more long term, stable and allow card to breathe, and owner gets to decide next owner with intention, control and surgical precision.

As hobby evolves, demand, liquidity, transfer of ownership will experience more formats and mindset changes. It provides truly an alternative asset class which is uncorrelated to day to day of other asset classes whose movement often beyond our control and traders are in reactive mode. Card owners can be more steady and long term.

Price and profit aside, insanely fun rips. Very cool to read back caption.

With correct configuration (silver being rarer) and price point (secondary $21), this could be fun.
