THE BLOCK: Binance CFO Kaiser Ng is leaving the exchange to pursue a new venture and will be replaced by Justin Yek, formerly VP of finance at Airwallex.

The change, which Binance says has been planned for six months, comes nine days after hackers stole more than $6 billion from the exchange.

A tumultuous last 3 years for Zcash and @sovright_ (fka @ElectricCoinCo) - on to the next chapter.

We earned the right to take a couple more shots at fighting for privacy. The stakes are even higher now in the age of AI super-surveillance, than when Zcash launched in 2016.

May we not own-goal with enabling blatantly mercenary behavior or wasting time on petty fights.

A Zcash board member on the two years when the project was one bad quarter away from resizing the team.

“I joined the board end of 2023, so it’s almost three years now. We all agreed at the board level that this was the last shot. It was do or die.”

“Our treasury is comfortable now, but for most of the two years after that, depending on coin price, we’d have to resize the team and really think about what our future looks like.”

Attended @drakefjustin session at @safe's event and someone brought up ZCash.

Here are a few points from that answer.

> Zcash is perhaps the number 1 worst place to park your money post quantum.
