I’m hiring an NYC-based Managing Editor for @stripepress. The ideal person for this role has substantial editorial experience at a publishing imprint or another publication and is fluent in our universe of ideas, but ideally isn’t my (or our) ideological twin.

Stripe Press is a small team with an unusual amount of autonomy. Right now we’re obsessively focused on the future: expanding our catalogue, rethinking our assumptions about the kinds of books we publish (fiction!?), and thinking about how to connect our readers w/ one another beyond the pop-ups we’ve been hosting since 2022.

Hoping to meet a lot of brilliant people who love books and are excited about building a world-class publishing institution: stripe.com/careers/listin…

From today, Works in Progress is now in stock at Barnes & Nobles nationwide across America.

We're in 570 stores in 49 states*, including the flagship stores at Union Square & Fifth Avenue in NYC; Georgetown, DC; State Street, Chicago; and The Grove, Los Angeles.

We're also now in Hudson News outlets across most major US airports, and the B&Ns at San Francisco Airport.

If you tweet (or LinkedIn/Insta post) a photo of a copy of Works in Progress outside any of these stores, share the post with me or @WorksInProgMag via DM and we'll send you a free tote bag as a thank you. If you're a subscriber already, feel free to do it with own copy!

You can see a full map of Barnes & Noble stockists here, and enter your Zip code to find your nearest store.

*Sorry, Wyoming, we'll get to you!

Yes!! A few weeks ago I stumbled onto The History Channel’s World War II podcast (narrated by Tom Hanks!) and I’ve been loving it: open.spotify.com/show/033j1czlq…

I have been trying for months to find a decent original copy of the magazine issue containing perhaps my favorite biographical essay of all time and, well, folks:

Dwarkesh has been working on this interview for years—don’t think there’s a single person he’s wanted to interview more.

If you’re in NYC, highly recommend putting this on and going for a long walk (weather is once again perfect today!)
