I've said it too many times to count, to him and when he wasn't around: my favorite style of wrestling is Josh Crane matches and this was by far the highlight of my time shooting the Ace of Indiana.
Not knowing what to do with social while I'm out I'm going to share random stories and pictures for now. This is one of my favorite moments captured by my fav photographer @workXshoot .
Long story short, 1 year earlier I spent my savings going to Japan to answer the call by Taka and Taichi for TakaTaichiMania, hoping to make impressions and get closer to my dream of fighting for NJPW. My dog passed away while I was in the air, I couldn't work due to visa issues, I did get a ton of press but there were also a few negatives I'll leave out, but I was down BAD. Lowest I've been until my surgery.
The match with Taka came together and my injury was getting worse, but I couldn't let it slip. I had to show him. While I had him down I looked at my homecrowd and got overwhelmed with emotion. I told him "Look at every one of them while I do what I've wanted to do for a LONG time" and snapped his fingers like string cheese.
End of the day I walked away far worse than I entered, undoubtedly this is where my bicep tore fully, but we traded respect and he gave me some kind words that made the last year a little better. Until next time, Taka-san!View quoted post on X
