Astroscale UK & Europe

We’re thrilled to welcome Prof. Richard Crowther to our Advisory Board! 💫

With 35+ years in space safety, sustainability & security, including senior roles at @spacegovuk & @UK_CAA, his expertise will strengthen our work toward a safer and more sustainable orbital environment.

"We don't want to leave this for future generations.  We need to solve the problem now."

Yesterday, our Managing Director, Nick Shave FRAeS, was invited to speak at a special session of the @UN General Assembly in New York, addressing the growing challenges of space debris.

Speaking to UN delegates, Nick highlighted the technological progress being made in On-Orbit Servicing (OOS), in particular Active Debris Removal (ADR), and the vital role these capabilities will play in protecting our orbital environment.

With the space environment becoming increasingly congested, particularly in some Low Earth Orbit (LEO) regions above 650km altitude, Nick emphasised the importance of international collaboration, highlighting Japan's existing guidelines and the UK's Rendezvous and Proximity Operations Regulatory Sandbox.

He also called for globally agreed guidelines for On-Orbit Servicing to support safe operations and effective space debris remediation. A powerful reminder of why we're working towards a safer, more sustainable orbital environment.

Astroscale has been awarded a contract by the UK Ministry of Defence.

As governments place greater emphasis on security and resilience in space, we're continuing to invest in the capabilities such as space domain awareness, space control and in-orbit servicing to help nations understand, protect and operate in an increasingly complex environment.

“ISAM is one of the key enabling capabilities we must have in order to be able to continue doing what we want to do in space” 💫

At our In-Orbit Servicing Summit, @spacegovuk Director Rebecca Evernden highlighted how ISAM tech and Astroscale are giving the UK a real edge in space.

Her remarks came after a day of workshops on how the UK can keep its lead - by building a strong mission pipeline and collaborating with government to secure our place in space.
