History is taking flight in Tampa Bay! Thank you to @GovRonDeSantis, @MyFDOT, and our industry partners for making today’s historic Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program demo event possible.

It's been nearly 113 years since history was made in Tampa with the world’s first scheduled commercial airline flight, American innovators @BETA_aircraft and @jobyaviation are bringing that historic route into the future with electric aircraft. Today also marks the first time both companies completed a demonstration together. This is what happens when the government and industry work together to realize the potential for safely integrating these transformational aircraft into the national airspace.

From the first commercial flight to the next era of aviation, America continues to lead the way!

The business aviation community is an important customer in our air traffic control system. Our goal is to implement smarter tools and interconnected systems that will help us optimize flight scheduling, flight tracking, in order to strengthen safety and efficiency.

Great to be back with our industry partners at the @RAATweets Leaders Conference yesterday! We discussed the progress we’re making to modernize the National Airspace System, including SMART and how this new tool will help us better manage airspace, respond to weather and keep traffic moving. We also talked about how the new ASM office and safety management data are helping us identify risks earlier and strengthen safety across the system.
