UTMB had the honor of hosting a distinguished guest, Nobel Laureate Dr. James E. Rothman, for a special lecture on Thursday, 10/29. Thanks to @bmb_utmb for hosting him. We were thrilled for the opportunity to hear from one of the world's most renowned biochemists/cell biologists.

Great seeing you discussing some of Nephrology‘s breakthroughs so comprehensively. 👏

When you’re scheduled to give a talk on APRIL/BAFF & IgAN biomarkers 24 hours after a #KidneyWk plenary session with 3 IgAN late-breakers (!!!)….you are up all night making brand new slides 🙈

Totally worth it when you walk in to see a packed room of colleagues (who stayed long after lunch to engage in discussions with us!!)

🙏🏼@ASNKidney for having as part of a fantastic session!

When you are watching a new sci-fi movie in the plane about an extraterrestrial fungus….. and it wants it to be safely stored in the @utmbhealth GNL 😀

In 2008, our lab presented the first evidence that uPAR regulates the kidney filtration barrier nature.com/articles/nm1696
Numerous studies from our lab and others followed.
Tomorrow @ASNKidney, we will see what happens when antibody WAL0921 is given to humans blocking (s)uPAR in kidney disease.
