We are living in an alternate version of American History.

This book challenged me to think seriously about what it means to follow Jesus.

Bonhoeffer’s warning about “cheap grace” stuck with me. It’s easy to talk about forgiveness while avoiding repentance, or affirm everything Jesus says without actually obeying Him.

Walking through the Sermon on the Mount, he makes those questions personal. How do I treat my enemies? What am I holding onto? Am I willing to obey Christ when it costs me something?

Coming from a legalistic background, I know how damaging it is to make obedience the basis of God’s acceptance. But the grace that saves us also changes us. Christ gave Himself for us, and His call to follow Him reaches every part of our lives.

That’s what made this book worth reading for me.

In light of recent events, it is very important for every American to know that there are 2 “Dana White”s.
