Nice that somebody notices these things.

Thanks to the A428 scheme we do effectively get half the expressway anyway, so it's going to be an interesting scientific experiment about what that road would do

The plan as it was in 2017 and as it is now. From 1 million homes and 1.1 million jobs to a much smaller development around Cambridge.

I feel very honoured to be on the roster for this event. Some incredibly bright minds who are looking to put Britain back at the cutting edge.

Come and hear how we can change the country for the better

Advance warning of a change to a common trivia question:

You’ll need to update it to ‘what _used_ to be the longest escalator on the tube?’

Angel tube station could become exit-only or close entirely as TfL battles failing escalators

(link to article in reply below)

Angel tube station in central London faces possible closure as its ageing escalators become increasingly unreliable and difficult to repair.

This is terrible policy design.

The 'wins' are already there in the industry code that most people follow.

The loss is that it creates more space for appeals - and the cost of running an appeal is less than the parking revenue. So no one will contest.

Free parking for all!

🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced changes to car parking fines

- Drivers will have a 5-minute grace period to decide whether to park and 10 minutes to leave after a parking session ends

- A £20 maximum charge on appeal for minor mistakes, such as entering the wrong number plate or not displaying a permit

- Charges will also be cancelled on appeal for breakdowns, medical emergencies or broken ticket machines

- The £100 cap on charges will remain

- The rules will come into force as soon as possible and operators that break them will lose access to DVLA data
