We're also proud to welcome NASA's business team to this event for the first time, to discuss what they will need to build America's Moon base.

@GovAndyBeshear & I just wrapped up the 2026 SOAR Summit with big news for Southern & Eastern Kentucky, including:
✅ Over $22 million for 9 projects to help support healthcare, emergency services, infrastructure, energy, education, tourism and economic development in Kentucky's 5th Congressional District.
✅ $25.7 million for @centertech for six BEAD award projects to expand high speed internet to over 3,000 homes across 12 counties.

I called a press conference this afternoon to share big news for Southern Kentucky.

An $85 million “Infrastructure for Rebuilding America” (INFRA) grant has been awarded for construction of the Northern Bypass in Pulaski County! It is the third-largest federal transportation grant in state history.

Along with this new grant, I am proud to say we now have a total of $167 million in federal funding for the project, including two Community Project Funding requests that I secured for the project totaling $82 million from fiscal years 2026 and 2024.

We are going to blast through rock walls to open up a new expressway for southern Kentucky.

This bypass paves the way for I-365, linking us east to west from I-65 to I-75 and on throughout Eastern Kentucky.

The tragedy of 9/11 is marked in our hearts forever, along with memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and the unmatched heroic efforts at Ground Zero.

While America’s sense of peace and security was shattered that day, our resolve did not lay in ruins. In the aftermath, our great nation united like never before, standing firm in the face of tyranny.

I will never forget arriving in New York City after the attack with a congressional delegation to examine the toll of terrorism. It was a deeply somber walk through the rubble, seeing American heroes still at work. In that moment, the immense task of rebuilding and strengthening our homeland became our sacred mission.

On this 25th anniversary, let us not only remember, but let us resolve to keep the American spirit alive and well for future generations.
