Democrats are preparing to use their new power in Congress to force the DoJ to hand over the unredacted Epstein files needed by Scotland Yard to pursue a case against Lord Mandelson, @Telegraph can reveal.
The party plans to use its incoming control of Congress to compel the release of documents that could prove crucial to bringing criminal charges against the former ambassador.
Democrats are also planning a renewed push to summon Lord Mandelson before Congress to answer questions about his links to Jeffrey Epstein, after he rebuffed previous invitations to give evidence, sources said.
The intervention could throw a lifeline to Scotland Yard’s investigation, which has stalled amid delays by the Justice Department in handing over the original documents.
