One of the most fun things about Callosum has been to build partnerships with the best hardware companies on earth to work together on building entirely new heterogeneous system! Massive thanks to all the folks at @cerebras @Rebellions_inc @dMatrix_AI @intel @NormalComputing @nvidia @Supermicro @awscloud @SambaNovaAI @AxeleraAI @CorticalLabs and many more (all listed in the blog) for partnering with us!

With our $100M seed round, we announce our first wave of global compute partnerships, flagship among them @CerebrasSystems.

Partnerships spanning silicon, infrastructure and geography. The path to intelligence that is orders-of-magnitude better, cheaper, and more sovereign.

@WoodingtonBen and the @coherenceneuro team are doing absolutely amazing work! Could not be more excited to see them raising their Series A; more than well deserved!

We’ve raised a $45m Series A, co-led by

@foundersfund and The @OpenAI Startup Fund, to build cancer therapy that learns. Technology is rapidly changing medicine, but data loops and rapid adjustments are still largely missing. When you start cancer treatment, knowing whether what you’re doing is working is too slow. Clearly there is a better way. Build systems to watch cancer in real time, then feed that data into a system that itself can treat the disease. This seeds a future where, unlike drugs, we develop medicine that continuously learns to improve itself. We've been building neurotechnology and BCI platforms to do just that.

Really enjoyed discussing our work at Callosum with @BSchech and @gabyllorenzi on the Compute 100 podcast! Link to episode below but also make sure to check out their other episodes, it generally is an amazing podcast they are hosting!

Today’s guest is @achterbrain , co-founder and CTO of @CallosumAI .

Jascha’s bet is that the future of compute is heterogeneous: different chips working together on different parts of a problem.

Beyond the multichip future, we discuss:

- What neuroscience taught Jascha about designing computing systems

- How chipmakers discover what their hardware is best at

- Where thermodynamic, biological, and quantum computing could fit

- Hiring people who welcome having their ideas challenged

- Building an AI infrastructure company in London

Earlier today we highlighted all the new hardware partnerships that we built to create entirely new heterogeneous hardware systems!

Now these are some of the results on how you beat frontier models with new heterogeneous intelligent systems!
⬇️
Callosum @CallosumAI Aug 20
Today, we are sharing some of our advances in how we utilise heterogeneous compute to push the efficiency-frontier in cost, speed and performance for increasingly complex AI workloads.

It starts with a simple observation: nearly every problem that requires intelligence can be decomposed into sub-parts. Once decomposed, heterogeneity becomes the natural path to greater capability, greater efficiency, and novel solutions.

FULL INTERVIEW: I sat down with @DanAkarca to announce the 100m Seed.

Dan is a generational founder building for a future of AI that is inevitable. They are building the software layer that lets AI workloads run across a mix of different models and chips

Today they've announced a $100m seed led by atomico, backed by @pluralplatform (@soundboy), @DCVC, @UKSovereignAI (@jameswise, @suzanneashman)

Here's the full interview:

0:00 - Introduction
1:09 - Callosum's approach to AI infrastructure
5:56 - How Callosum's technology works for customers
8:48 - Callosum's new $100m round
12:33 - How Callosum built partnerships with chip companies like Cerebras
17:14 - Why Callosum wasn't built just to make chips work together
20:03 - What the $100m will fund next
24:54 - Why cost is becoming as important as speed for AI buyers
28:03 - Who Danyal thinks will win the AI stack over the next three years
33:03 - Why London has become a serious AI hub

Huge congrats to the @CallosumAI team, @DanAkarca @achterbrain
