Auburn University assistant football coach Jeris McIntyre pulls back the curtain on the hidden criteria coaches use when evaluating high school football players.

From effort and physicality to football IQ, body language, competitiveness, development and position-specific traits, college coaches are looking for much more than what's sitting in the stat sheet.

And here's the part most parents don't realize:

A player can have great numbers and still not be a college-level prospect.

In this conversation, Preston Jackson and Coach McIntyre break down how college coaches really evaluate recruits and what players and families should understand about the college football recruiting process.

If you're a high school football player, parent, coach or aspiring college recruit, this is a conversation you need to hear.

The most underrated upper body lift in my opinion is the z press. It’s a brutally honest assessment of pressing strength.

Similar to strong on 1 = strong on 2. I’ve never met a strong overhead presser who wasn’t also a strong horizontal presser, the opposite doesn’t hold true.
