If this is indeed the cause, failing to discover it until Election Day amounts to electoral malpractice, if not outright malfeasance.

The Westchester County Board of Elections (BOE) is aware of an issue involving paper ballots that is preventing voting machines from accepting ballots at polling locations throughout the County. The Westchester Board of Elections wants to reassure every voter that your vote matters, your ballot will be secure and your vote will be counted.View quoted post on X
The Board of Elections is in constant communication with New York State officials, Westchester County Government and poll workers to address this issue and ensure that voting continues with as little disruption as possible. In the meantime, voters should continue to complete their paper ballots as instructed by poll workers. Ballots will be placed in designated orange emergency ballot bags, which will remain secure and monitored. These ballots will subsequently be counted in accordance with applicable election procedures.
We strongly encourage all voters to remain in line, exercise patience and, most importantly, cast their ballots.
The BOE sincerely apologizes to voters and poll workers for the inconvenience this situation has caused, and the BOE recognizes the importance of a smooth and efficient voting process. They are taking every necessary step to address the issue as quickly as possible.
Let us be absolutely clear: Every eligible vote will be counted. No voter should be discouraged from participating in this election because of this issue. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Please stay in line and vote.

Submitted and accepted! An American owned and operated enrichment plant is finally under review for a new license.View quoted post on X
NRC surprisingly refused to commit to the expedited review timeline of 12 months and only approved an 18 month timeline.
Iโm gonna lean into the demonstrated review speed with the TVA construction license to say the GeM license will likely be completed on, or close to, the 12-month expedited timeline.
Itโs a national security objective to get us off the Russian enrichment service crutch we still use. 20-25% of our SWU is still imported from TENEXโฆ
NRC blames lack of resources and anticipated workload, full text:
โGiven the anticipated increase in the workload and associated resource constraints, the NRC staff cannot commit at this time to a schedule shorter than the estimated April 2028 completion date. However, provided that General Matter maintains this strong level of engagement, supplies timely and complete information, and NRC resources are available, the staff will pursue appropriate efficiencies and consider opportunities to expedite portions of the review.โ

The approval is not just for criticality, but for Radiantโs full power, full temperature testing at the Idaho National Laboratory. Radiant will test the complete reactor system using the same design it will manufacture at scale.
