#FairfaxBravest US Park Police and Montgomery County Fire rescued a woman over the weekend with a leg injury in a steep ravine at Scott’s Run Nature Preserve. Crews built a rope system to move her to the water’s edge, and Eagle 2 hoisted her to a hospital.

It’s Fat Bear Week!

@Interior manages over 500 million acres of public lands, including the pristine wilderness of Katmai National Park. After months of feasting on salmon in the Brooks River, Katmai’s brown bears are now at their largest size.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the New York Times spent time and resources analyzing the Reflecting Pool.

And they continue to avoid doing any real reporting on all the vandalism that has clearly happened at the Reflecting Pool:
- 342 feet of razor blade slashes
- "8647" spray painted in massive black letters on the pool
- U.S. Attorney's Office: "The NPS employee...stated that the defendant then knelt, placed both hands into the reflecting pool—below the surface of the water—and started to ‘violently’ rip and tug at a large portion of the blue pool coating."
- "8647" chemical bums on the nearby grass
